Getting Started

To get started you will need a Locator device which has the ability to track your location and possibly other information and, for our purposes, can transmit that information to a Service Provider or "Portal" which will store and process the information.

We are the Portal and we support the Webtech Wireless equipment.

This equipment is a one-time purchase and is then owned by the customer. The Locator unit requires installation. Typically this involves installing the device under the dashboard, connecting three wires (power, ground, ignition), and running a small magnetic-mount antenna (or something more industrial strength is available if you prefer) somewhere outside the vehicle. This can be done by the consumer or possibly your local radio installation service.

The Locator device requires an internet connection to send the location reports to the Server. This requires an account for the unit (a SIM card) from a wireless GPRS provider.   In many cases you will get billed for this directly from the wireless provider.

The Portal service is provided by us for a monthly fee per tracking unit. This service includes the collection and storage of the data sent from the locator device, processing fence crossings and input changes, generating reports and maps, sending real-time alerts via text-messaging or live operators.
